This course provides an overview of math in the early childhood curriculum. Special emphasis will be given to methods and techniques, cognitive experiences, research, and the use of instructional materials in math studies. Discussions will also on identifying the development of the child in learning mathematics.

This course is designed to help teachers create an age appropriate active learning environment to support the science in for young children. The National curriculum for science established by the Ministry of Education provides the framework for developing the science curriculum. Course also offers an exploration of principles, methods, and materials for teaching children math and science concepts and process skills through discovery and play. By using a hands-on approach, learners explore the various materials to stimulate and develop children’s scientific thinking. The course emphasizes the application of developmental appropriate practices

This course enables students to understand lecturers given in English and encourages students to express their understandings through speaking and writing in English

The course prepares early childhood educators with knowledge of the importance of helping children in guiding their behavior. It also examines theories of guiding children’s behavior necessary to be applied to teaching when it is necessary. The issues of what are the cornerstones of teacher effectiveness training will also be discussed.

The course teaches the students to explain growth, and developmental of infants, toddlers, and young children. Concurrently instilling the basic understanding of children’s developmental level from birth to their preschool age. Hence its provides students to examine the range of theories and approaches that shaped or view of young children today and to analyse a variety of developmental theories, which reflect many different beliefs about the nature of child development. Upon grasping the main concept, students will then be able to demonstrate knowledge of effective observations and research for child development.

The course provides a holistic understanding of human development at different period in the life span. It also provides a perspective on the change that takes place during an individual’s life from birth to death. Simultaneously it helps students to examine possible causes of developmental change and reasons for disturbances in the developmental process. Lastly to describe objective techniques and skills of observing human behavior and provides ways in which social, political, and cultural trends affect the individual.

This course explores the importance of the basic philosophy of the early childhood education for the teaching life of a teacher. The focus of this course will be on philosophy of early childhood education within the context of education as a social institution or more broadly as the process of human existential growth for example how it is that out understanding of the world is continually transformed between school and society, the learner-teacher, dynamic and so on. 

This course covers the foundations of the education profession, the diverse educational settings for young children, professionalism and planning appropriate programs for children. Topics include the basic values, structure and programs in early childhood professionalism, and creating inclusive environments and curriculum that are responsive to the needs of children and families. This course is designed as an overview of early childhood care and education.
