Led by the president of the Early Childhood Education (“ECE”) Club, Breena Chia, the juniors of ALFA College’s ECE programme recently honoured and bade adieu to their seniors who will be graduating this year, at a farewell party held at ALFA College.
Though farewell parties usually have a bittersweet note to them, the juniors instead triumphed in creating an ambience of pure fun and enjoyment as the party was kicked off with a game of “Telephone Pictionary”. All juniors and seniors, as well as the ECE lecturers joined in the action. The atmosphere at this juncture was simply lively as it was hilarious to watch how a drawing of a desk fan can wondrously morph into a flower pot!
Having worked up an appetite from all the chuckling and laughing, students and lecturers were later welcomed by a spread of delectable cuisine and refreshments. There was indeed a very strong sense of camaraderie amongst juniors and seniors as they chowed, joked and shared stories with one another. It was evident that this fellowship and bond did not just manifest overnight, but over time, during their fruitful college life at ALFA College.
Words of encouragement and heartfelt wishes for a successful future were later on shared by the lecturers; reminding students of their potential and to stay inspired in making a positive difference in children’s lives. The party ended with the juniors presenting to their seniors beautiful keepsake tins and cards containing lovely handwritten messages of best wishes by students and lecturers; as well as pictures captured during their educational journey at ALFA College.
It was indeed a memorable event as both students and lecturers alike reminisced good old times and look forward to venture on this thriving field of teaching together.
