This program introduces students to the hardware and software required to work in the digital design field. ALFA’s Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Graphic Design programme which aims to produce designer experts for the society needs. The potential demand for such professions is always great due to the rapid changes and the advancement in the art, science and technology.

Graphic Design Bachelor of Arts ALFA helps students gain the skills and software they need for the industry. Typically these programmes involve basic design courses and general education courses, which can result in a professional portfolio. Graduates of these programs may obtain the entrance in graphic design work or master's degrees.

PROGRAMME AIMS

The goal of the Graphic Design course is to develop a student’s understanding of the role, desires and possibilities of design, towards (independent) practice. The department focuses on teaching students on how to organize and shape information within today’s social and cultural context, based on knowledge of the history of design and with an emphasis on the role played by conceptual and editorial approaches to it. Develop an understanding of the students when applying the principles taught in a variety of design problem as well as generate creative thinking and problem solving..

Entry Requirements

Education Qualifications

  • Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) or its equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 with a credit in Bahasa Melayu and a pass in English at SOM level; OR
  • A Recognised Diploma or its equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.00; OR
  • A recognized Matriculation / Foundation or its equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.00; OR
  • Equivalent qualification and / or experience which is recognized by the senate / institution
  • AND Malaysian University English Test (MUET) Band 1.
  • For international students, it is compulsory to obtain a minimum score of 5.5 for IELTS or its equivalent.
  • AND A pass interview and drawing test (Except for Art and Design management and History programme)
